The College Introduction

Government Naveen Mahavidyalaya Lakhanpur is located 30 km away from the district headquarters Ambikapur Surguja Chhattisgarh. This college has been established by the state government in 2018 with the efforts of local public representatives. This college is located on Ambikapur Bilaspur National Highway. The objective of this college is to uplift the educational, social and moral needs of the economically weaker, tribal and rural children residing in Lakhanpur development block. This college is affiliated to Sant Gahira Guru University Ambikapur. In this college, classes of VA, BSc, and BCom are conducted under the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Commerce by qualified and experienced professors. This college has its own 15 acres of land located on a hill covered with natural beauty in front of Ambikapur-Lakhanpur National Highway Kuvarpur reservoir, in which the process of construction of the college is going on.

History and Background of its Establishment:

The Department of Botany of Government Naveen Mahavidyalaya Lakhanpur District Surguja Chhattisgarh was established in 2018 by the Chhattisgarh Government Raipur with the recognition of the Science Faculty along with the establishment of the college. Under this department, B.Sc. Botany classes are conducted at the undergraduate level, and efforts are underway to get recognition for M.Sc. Botany classes at the postgraduate level, which is likely from the session 2025.
